Rhys Meyers brings sex appeal to Tudor monarch history

Henry VIII played by a sexy, athletic, chiseled, gorgeous Jonathan Rhys Meyers kicks off tonight on Showtime.  Americans sure know how to make the Tudor monarch appealing!

Rhys Meyers plays Henry as a bare-chested athlete, seducing beautiful women, fighting and brawling around his court with Thomas More and Cardinal Wolsey. 'We don't want the traditional Henry, all fat and chewing on a rib. Rhys Meyers is sexier than that. He looks fantastic,' said journalist Gayl Murphy.

For once, I'm actually excited about history!  Maybe they should spice up the history books students use in school?  That might make everyone a little more interested!

Showtime's The Tudors premieres on Sunday at 10:00 p.m.
