Gays score big abroad, lose ground in US

It's sad to say that every time another country makes a huge step in gay rights, the US takes a step backward.

Colombia's highest court has decided that gay couples in long-term relationships will have the same rights to shared assets as straight couples do.

In Italy, law makers approved legislation granting legal rights to unmarried couples in both heterosexual and same-sex relationships.

Meanwhile, back in the US a Michigan court ruling bans public employers from providing health insurance to partners of gay employees.

As Steve Sidewalk would say, Canada keeps sounding better and better!

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
