Angelina Jolie: March 2007 Archives

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt say they were 'stunned' when they found out that someone intended to kidnapped the newest edition to their family, Pax.

Life and Style Weekly is reporting that the Jolie-Pitt security detail finds the threat "credible and meticulously planned."

The news evidently shocked the beautiful couple.

"They're highly skilled operatives with little regard for human life," a security insider told the magazine.

"Information came out that leaders of the gang ordered their LA members to devise a plan to kidnap Pax before demanding a ransom of $100m — equal to the profit from a year of drug dealing — for his safe return.

"Brad and Angie would have a number of days to hand over the money or risk the boy's life."

Brad, 43, was left stunned when members of his security team revealed the plot.

"The life drained out of Brad when he heard that," a friend of the couple said.

"He was a wreck. He didn't want to tell Angie the extent of the threat, especially not until she returned stateside.

"But he had no choice. She needed to know so she could take the necessary precautions."

Angelina, 31, was left in tears when Brad told her about the awful plot.

"She sobbed that she'd die if anything happened to Pax."

A representative for Brad Pitt denied the story. But Brad is said to have increased security around his family.

"They have gone into total lockdown mode," the pal said.

"He's added manpower around their LA home and has told security he doesn't want Angie or the kids leaving the house without at least five security people."

But the added security doesn't appear to have set Angelina's mind at rest.

"She isn't sleeping and barely eats," the friend said.

"She doesn't let the kids out of her sight. She seems on the verge of a breakdown."

Scary stuff!  If US Weekly is correct then it might just be a big publicity stunt!

In what Gawker calls and act of jealousy, US magazine is slamming Angelina Jolie in this week's edition.

It all starts with a cover that in bold print reads:  "HER TWISTED DOUBLE LIFE" on top of a sassy pic of Angelina.

The cover claims:

  • She lied about becoming a stay-at-home mom!
  • She and Brad are fighting about Pax's adoption!
  • She uses her kids to manipulate the media!

Can you believe it?!  I don't know that I necessarily believe any of it, but then again - you never can tell!

Angelina Jolie sure knows how to pick them.  Evidently a Vietnamese heroine addict claims to be the birth mother of her newly adopted son Pax

Sources say she will likely come after the Jolie and her boyfriend Brad Pitt in hopes of making a few bucks.

Pax's alleged grandfather has even come forward denouncing the lady's actions.  He called her a "heroin addict" who is in "a bag of trouble."

Pax is Angelina and Brad's third adopted child.  Previous reports claim that his birth parents were unable to be located.

There you have it!  The exclusive photos that appeared on the cover of Hello! and People magazines this week that allegedly brought in at least $2 million.

According to Radar magazine, Angelina Jolie, who adopted three-year-old Vietnamese orphan renamed Pax Thien Jolie last week, has sold pictures of her new son to People magazine for between $1.75 million and $2 million.

People spokesperson described that figure as "absurd".

Angelina and her boyfriend Brad Pitt sold the first photos of their biological daughter Shiloh and allegedly donated the money to charity?

Is this one just Pax's first paycheck or will we soon get word on which charity gets the dough?  You never can tell, these are the unpredictable Jolie-Pitt's here.

Angelina Jolie and her newly adopted son, Pax Thien Jolie, are en route to their home in the United States!

The three-year-old Vietnamese boy has already had his first photo shoot.  The pictures that will appear in Hello! magazine show Pax playing by a swimming pool with sister Zahara and snuggled up in bed with five-year-old brother Maddox.

"He is a very serious, very sweet little boy. We are slowly beginning to build his trust and bond but it will feel complete only when we are all a family. You can imagine what courage it takes to be in all new surroundings with new people and a new language. He is very strong. It will take him a while to realise he has a family; that his new life is permanent and it won't keep changing," Jolie told Hello!

Upon arriving in the US, Pax will meet his soon-to-be father Brad Pitt and his other sister Shiloh  for the first time.

Angelina has spent the week in Vietnam where she adopted Pax.  She has come under scrutiny for 'fast tracking' the adoption process using her celebrity status, but adoption officials came to her defense saying she started the adoption process last summer.

Angelina and Pax arrived in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi Monday and was given the documentation needed to move Pax to the US.

"She may leave Vietnam tonight," Vu Duc Long, director of Vietnam's International Adoption Department said.

Angelina Jolie arrived in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, where she will apply finalize the paperwork needed to bring home her newly adopted son, Pax Thiem Jolie.

The adoption will become final as soon as U.S. embassy officials approve the paperwork for Pax to travel to the United States with Jolie, Vietnamese officials said.

Angelina has tried to stay out of public eye in Vietnam since her arrival on Wednesday night to adopt the three-and-a-half year old boy from an orphanage.

Jolie and her partner, Brad Pitt, have two other adopted children named Maddox and Zahara as well as one biological daughter named Shiloh.

I have come under fire for many things in my tenure as a writer.  I was once hit in the face while emceeing an event because someone thought I wrote that Anna Nicole Smith was an unfit mother (who is laughing now), among other 'hater' activities.

However, I never thought I would take a beating like I have for writing about someone I admire and look up to... that happened this week when I called Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's family a 'fleet.'

Maybe it was a bad choice of words, but Brad Pitt even joked that he and Jolie planned to have their own 'soccer' team.  My apologies to anyone who I may have offended.  I love the Jolie-Pitt's.  I mean, after all, they are the most beautiful family on earth!

This week Angelina Jolie went to Vietnam to pick up her newest kid!  She has renamed the 3-year-old boy Pax Thien Jolie.  Pax will be the newest addition to the Jolie-Pitt's.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt already have three children together.  Jolie adopted Maddox and Zahara before meeting Pitt who later also adopted them both.  Jolie and Pitt also have on biological daughter, Shiloh.

Jolie went to Vietnam to pick up Pax herself, and currently she is the only parent listed on the adoption papers.

Earlier in the week, the media speculated that Jolie had 'fast paced' her application since she was a celebrity and since she had hand-picked the child she wanted to adopt.

"In this case, things can move faster because she's a celebrity and she has already found a child," Vietnam's senior adoption official Vu Duc Long said last week.

As it turns out, however, that isn't the case.  US officials have confirmed that Angelina actually started this adoption procedure last summer.

"Throughout Ms Jolie's adoption process, she received no preferential treatment from the Vietnamese government or Adoptions From The Heart," said the statement by Heidi Gonzalez, the non-profit agency's Vietnam coordinator.

"Contrary to earlier reports, her application was not fast-tracked," the statement read.

Reporters on the scene say that Jolie conforted the crying young boy when she arrived to take him back with her.  From what I hear it was really a breath-taking site as Angelina and her new son bonded for the first time.

That isn't the end of it though, Angelina has also confirmed that she will take some time off to stay home and focus on raising her family.

She and Brad Pitt have recently relocated to New Orleans where they both say they will help to rebuild the struggling city.  Pitt is also expected to add his name as Pax's father when everything is finalized.

Angelina Jolie has adopted a second little boy, this time from Vietnam.  As always the gorgeous movie star has come under some controversy for 'fast tracking' her application, but a US adoption agency is saying the 31 year old good will ambassador and actress did everything correctly.

Evidently Angelina started this adoption process last summer, and the Defamer claims the photo above is a copy of 3-year-old boy's passport.

A Vietnamese agent said he thought Jolie had received preferiental treatment due to her high profile status.

"In this case, things can move faster because she's a celebrity and she has already found a child," Vietnam's senior adoption official Vu Duc Long said last week.

Angelia and her new son, Pax Thien Jolie, are expected back in the US as early as Monday or Tuesday where it looks like Angelina will be a stay at home for a while anyway.

"I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life," Jolie told Friday's Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper, according to a translation on the Associated Press. "I have four children and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I am very proud and happy to be their mother."

Several media outlets are reporting that Angelina Jolie hugged, played with and comforted the three year old boy before she adopted him.

Evidently the little tyke cried when Angelina came up, but she was able to turn that around quickly welcoming him to the Jolie-Pitt family.

The boy's caregiver said his favorite dishes included fried noodle and yoghurt and that he can count from 1 to 10 in English.

Angelina renamed the Vietnamese born boy Pax Thien Jolie.  Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcome Pax as their third adopted child.  Maddox and Zahara, of course, gained a sister (Jolie-Pitt's only biological child so far) Shiloh last year.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has officially added a 3-year-old son to their fleet of children.  The Vietnamese boy has been renamed Pax Thien Jolie, which means peaceful sky in Latin.

Pax Thien joins the 5-year-old Maddox Chivan, who was adopted from Cambodia, the 2-year-old Zahara Marley, who was adopted from Ethiopia, and the ten-month-old Shiloh Nouvel, Jolie and Pitt's biological daughter.

Angelina Jolie made the trip to Vietnam with Maddox this week to pick up Pax Thien following a fast-tracked adoption process.

Jolie is now merely awaiting a passport for the child from the American consulate and Angelina can bring home her fourth child.

Angelina Jolie shops for kids the way the rest of us shop for shoes.  The actress swept into an orphanage in southern Vietnam on Thursday and wisked away with a 3-year-old boy she plans to adopt.

Jolie and Cambodian-adopted-son Maddox arrived in Ho Minh City on Wednesday night and picked up the boy from the Tam Binh orphanage to a waiting van.

They are evidently now headed to the Department of Justice where an official ceremony will be carried out to make the adoption official!

If all goes to plan, Jolie could take the child home by the weekend, officials said.

Now that's what I call an express lane!  Brad Pitt, Shiloh and Zahara are evidently waiting behind for the arrival of their newest family member!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are evidently only three weeks away from expanding their multi-cultural family.

Their Veitnamese adoption application is on the fast track mainly because of the child's age and his nearly complete record.

Jolie filed the papers for adoption and will likely add Pitt's name after the process is complete.
The addition of this three year old boy puts their baby count at four, two boys and two girls.

Angelina and Brad have one biological child Shiloh, and Pitt has already legally become the father of Jolie's two other adopted kids Maddox and Zahara.

Angelina Jolie always works her hardest at trying to save the world, even an attempted kidnapping won't keep this international do-gooder down!  That's right, someone planned to steal Brad Pitt's gorgeous girlfriend!

The News of the World quoted Jolie as saying, "It was in a small village. I won't say where, or with whom, but some gangsters planned to kidnap me and extort a massive ransom. I was warned at the last minute, and managed to escape, luckily."

Angelina, of course, won't let that keep her down.  She currently involved in missions that range from New Orleans to Cambodia.  You go girl!  Live life on the edge!!

Newsweek just landed an exclusive interview with Angelina Jolie about her recent humanitarian mission to Chad.

Here are some highlights from the interview.  Trust me, they will only make you love her even more!

People will look at these pictures of you in Chad and ask, “What can I do?” What should they do?
There are great NGOs like SOS [Austria's SOS Kinderdorp] and there are great NGOs inside and under the U.N. that you could send aid to. It's important for the American people to know that a lot of people believe—I certainly believe—that it has been their outcry and their interest that has motivated our government. I think that the American people have paid attention to Darfur—a really amazing groundswell of people that really care, and are moved and emotional about the things they've seen when it is brought to their attention.

Where would you take the spotlight next?
I want to go back to Cambodia. I would like to understand and see what I can find out about what's happening inside Burma.

You're living in New Orleans right now. Is that just because you like the city or because you wanted to bring attention to New Orleans, too?
A bit of both. Brad was doing a film here and so we were going spend a month here. [We] realized it was a place we liked, we liked the people, I liked the school for the kids. They're very diverse. I liked the other parents. I feel very comfortable with them. We're happy having our children here. Brad is working on rebuilding here.... But for me, just as a mom, I love the other parents and the kids and the schools. I'm starting to work on the education here and the school system here. There's a lot of work to be done.

Told you it would make you love her even more!!

In about three months or so, it will be two boys and two girls for team Jolie-Pitt.  E! News is reporting that Angelina Jolie has picked out a Vietnamese baby boy to add to her "soccer team" in the making with boyfriend Brad Pitt (in his own words).

Just days after we first told you that Jolie had filed papers through a U.S. agency to adopt a child from the southeast Asian country, Vu Duc Long, director of Vietnam's International Adoption Agency, confirmed they have picked a boy.

A Vietnamese official announced Wednesday that Angelina Jolie is in the process of adopting a three- or four-year-old boy she chose to add to her burgeoning family during a recent trip to the Tam Binh orphanage.

Pitt will likely later apply for adoption rights as he did with Jolie's other adopted children, Maddox and Zahara.

Brad Pitt is totally one of the hottest people alive, as is his girlfriend Angelina Jolie... so it is only logical that Shiloh is just as freakin' gorgeous as her parents.

She and dad are spotted goofing around on his movie set in New Orleans.

Shiloh and dad were spotted with mom and sister Zahara taking a stoll and enjoying their new home town of New Orleans.

Have you ever seen a pretty group of people?!  Gorgeous!

It looks like the Jolie-Pitts are adding another youngster to the clan!

A top Vietnamese official said on Friday that Angelina Jolie has filed papers through a U.S. adoption agency to adopt a child from their country.

"She just filed the papers this week," Vu Duc Long, the director of Vietnam's International Adoption Agency, told the Associated Press.

There was no official confirmation from the Jolie-Pitt camp.  Angelina evidently listed herself as a single parent in her paperwork.  That will likely be updated later to reflect Brad Pitt's position as adjunt daddy.

Congrats to Jolie-Pitts!
