Larry Birkhead's fired attorney plans to get her money

Larry Birkhead's former attorney Debra Opri seems a bit pissed off that her hefty attorney bills hit the media.  Larry's fired attorney says the charges are legit!

"One can only imagine from whom and for what purposes these stories were started. I cannot comment on unauthenticated documents which were disseminated to the media under suspicious circumstances, and which are covered by the attorney-client privilege. I can assure you, however, that all of the fees and expenses incurred on behalf of Mr. Birkhead were reasonable, necessary, and appropriate, given the complexity and magnitude of this very high profile case that was litigated in two different states and a foreign country. Out of respect for Mr. Birkhead, I cannot comment further at this time."

Respect for Larry Birkhead?  You just smacked him with a $600,000+ bill.  Now that's respect!

Birkhead won a major victory in court today when Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer turned alleged lover Howard K. Stern withdrew his appeal to block the release of Dannielynn's paternity results even though DNA tests have already been conducted.  The results are expected to be released in court any day now!

Ha, watched Nancy Grace last night, Nancy wasn't on, but there were some pretty interesting guests in attendance, including lawyers who shared their thoughts on the story. One of the lawyers present was Howard K Stern's lawyer who ended up looking pretty ridiculous because he was trying to deny that 8 of the 11 drugs were written out to Stern - saying you don't know that. But the host clearly quietened him by saying, we have just reviewed the file that we have from the Seminole police report - the one Greta Van Sustern uncovered and yes, it clearly confirms the drugs were written out to Stern and Perper had been questioned on it. Perper stumbled to provide answers, Stern's lawyer was silenced. Another of the lawyers on the show then indicated that Opri was so out of line; charging for things she had no business charging for. Top lawyers pretty much labeled her a crackpot, and how she wasn't helping their reputation; they made fun of her, and told her "Good luck on collecting". They said Birkhead wasn't a millionaire, he was an ordinary guy, and that this lawyer was known for loving the limelight. It seems she even billed Birkhead for her husband's drycleaning bill and some $500 dollar tip at a restaurant along with other outrageous bills. She was asked not to attend Annas funeral by Birkhead, but she ignored Birkhead and just did what she wanted; Birkhead's relationship with her was strained through most of the time, he felt she was out of control - in every way. Her bill certainly proved it. At first her authoritative attitude might have impressed, she wasn't going to back away or be intimidated by Stern, she has handled a high profile case, but Anyway, the word from some of the countries top lawyers on Opri was that she had now become laughable, a joke, abusrd. They didn't believe her. They said she wasn't trying to help Birkhead as get her name in the media, she loved having her pictures taken, and at one point shoved Birkhead out of the way so that the media could take snap shots of her. Whatever reputation Opri had developed up to this point, has been shot down now. She made a spectacle of herself in this trial, and because she'd been dropped by Birkhead, which for someone with an ego like hers wouldn't sit well, she was going to try and make Birkhead pay for making it look like she was incompetent when he dropped her; which she is. It's only when Birkhead dropped her that things moved in his favour. I'm certain after a while he realized she was more in it for the publicity she could get rather than helping anyone else. The pic of her pushing Birkhead out of the way so the camera lens could focus on her was priceless. She firmly shoved him. All lawyers and guests agreed that Opri was out of line and sure had a lot of nerve and they didn't appreciate that; especially when questions turned to them about whether they too gouge the public like that.

Give Larry his a chance to look after his daughter...PLEASE...Give Dannielynn a chance at a normal life...not one of litigation.
