Paul McCartney joins forces with Starbucks

A few weeks ago, we told you that Starbucks was starting its own record label called Hear Music.

Now, they have their first big name!  The coffee company gone musical is joining forces with Paul McCartney.

Mr. McCartney, who became a free agent after releasing his most recent pop album through his longtime label, EMI Group’s Capitol Records, said yesterday that he would become the first artist to sign with Hear Music, a label being created by Starbucks.

The former Beatle got the best end of the deal.  It's only a one album deal and McCartney gets to keep ownership of the master recording.  I guess he should, after all, he does have to support Heather Mills expensive lifestyle.

I'll have an iced venti breve latte and a Paul McCartney tune too!
