Eddie Griffin says expensive car wreck was no joke

Eddie Griffin is denying that his high end car crash earlier this week was a hoax or publicity stunt for his new movie Redline.

Griffin was participating in a promotional charity race at the Irwindale Speedway Monday, when he evidently drove too fast around a curve. Griffin hit the wall in what we're told was a rare, Ferrari Enzo, worth $1.5 million.

"I mean, how retarded do you got to be to think that somebody is going to wreck a million and a half dollar car as a hoax?," Griffin asked on Access Hollywood. "And why would I want to be the one driving it and running it into a concrete divider as a hoax!"

The car he was driving was so rare that there were only 400 ever made.
