Will Rosie O'Donnell "Gay-Up" the View?
Tuesday morning at approximately 11am Rosie O'Donnell will take her seat the View table over on ABC. You know I've followed this story closely at www.gossipparty.com since breaking this story here at GaySocialites.
Now, I wonder if Rosie's new job at the View will do anything for the LGBT community.
The View ladies (sans conservative Elisabeth Hasselbach) have been mostly gay-friendly in their 9-year run, but I wonder how awkward it will be when the girls talk about who they think is "hot" and when Elisabeth blurts out something stupid like "gays shouldn't be allowed to have children." Will Rosie say she thinks a chick looks "hot," and will she knock Elisabeth off her stool when she "feels so passionately" about something that makes Ro-Ro boil.
Rosie's new job is as "moderator" of the show, and as we all know... Rosie O'Donnell is the farthest thing from conservative. She is not afraid to stand-up against right-wing conservatives when they try to supress her. Her predessecor, Meredith Vieira, was the traffic cop and could basically kept both Star Jones and Hasselbach silenced most of the time. I guess we'll see how Rosie handles things as the new girl.
Rosie's first episode airs on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11pm EST on ABC.
