Naomi Campbell: March 2007 Archives
While paying her debt to society for decking her housekeeper with a cell phone, Naomi Campbell was making a few bucks at the same time. Everyone seemed to wonder why Naomi looked so fabulous as she entered and departed each day of community service, it's because she was posing for a magazine cover.
Patrick McCarthy, the editorial director of W magazine, says that the feature starring janitor Naomi Campbell will run across about 20 pages in the July issue of the magazine.
"It's going to make a great story. We came up with the idea in a story conference and we got in touch with Naomi's people. She was very keen to do it, she thought it would be a lot of fun," he said.
Naomi wore an array of designer duds each day ranging from a Ralph Lauren fit-and-flare cashmere coat on day one to a Dolce & Gabbana couture evening gown when she walked the final walk after completing her assignment on Friday.
Campbell earned an estimated $465,000 total for wearing clothes from various designers each day.
Naomi! That man... in the uniform... he's a cop, not a bell man! Sorry folks, she's a supermodel... she doesn't know any better!
The NY Post published this picture today of a cop carrying Naomi Campbell's hand bag for her at her community service assignment for the New York City Department of Sanitation.
Campbell is in the midst of serving 5 days of cleaning floors, scrubbing toilets and taking out trash. She was ordered to community service for throwing her cell phone at her previous maid.
Maybe the cop is carrying the bag so she doesn't slug him with the phone? OR maybe the phone is in the bag, and the cop is just holding it for safe measure?
This is how a supermodel dresses when she is going to do community service for beating up their housekeeper with a cell phone. That's Naomi Campbell arriving to serve her community service at the New York Department of Sanitation.
Notice how she is carrying her work boots like an accessory. Once inside she had to strap those babies on with a bright orange reflective vest and protective gloves and mask. She actually asked for the vest in advance so she could have it washed, but the city wouldn't comply.
Unlike Boy George, pictured here doing his community service; Naomi gets to work inside where no can see her. Campbell also has to serve five days compared to Boy George only working for one day in the pretty orange vest. Evidently she will also be doing much harder work such as scrubbing floors, cleaning toilets and washing walls.
Naomi also had to turn over all of her personal items once reporting for duty, including her cell phone. I would have HATED to have been the poor guy who had to ask the cell phone throwing supermodel to turn over her mobile phone.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell reported for duty this morning cleaning at the Department of Sanitation. To avoid cameras and paparazzi attention, Campbell will work inside.
The lady who is accused of throwing her cell phone at her housekeeper, will turn into a housekeeper herself as she sports an orange reflector vest and a pair of work gloves for the job. Sanitation department deputy chief Albert Durrell advised that the 36-year-old should swap her heels for jeans and sneakers.
Campbell pleaded guilty in January to a misdemeanour charge of reckless assault for the attack on Anna Scolavino.
She bargained to clean instead of going to prison. Probably a good choice!
New York City "made an example" with Boy George this fall by making him clean up garbage as a part of his sentence for drug possession. Now, the city will utilize another celebrity to get some chores done.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell will be mopping floors that the New York Sanitation Department on March 19.
The New York Post reported Tuesday that Campbell had been assigned to mop floors with other community service workers at a Sanitation Department warehouse in Manhattan. A court official confirmed the story but declined further comment.
Campbell was sentenced to community service as punishment for throwing her mobile phone at her housekeeper, she'll be cleaning for five-days.
Too bad we won't be able to stand around and laugh like we did with Boy George!
While speaking out about her own past drug problems; Supermodel Naomi Campbell warned her fellow Supermodel Kate Moss about doing drugs.
"She is hurting herself and when it's exposed she doesn't have the space or time to help herself because everyone is looking at her. It's hard," Campbell said.
You know you have a problem when Naomi Campbell is pointing out your flaws!
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is finally admitting that she was hooked on cocaine. Seriously, like we didn't already suspect that. We all know that throwing cell phones at people is sign #1 that someone is 'jonesing' for line of nose candy.
The 36-year-old model said she was first offered coke when she was 24, but now attends daily Narcotics Anonymous meetings no matter where she is traveling in the world at that time.
When asked about doing drugs she said,"It made me feel invincible. Like I could conquer the world. I was just completely over-confident, but it's all a misconception because when you wake up the next day it's all gone and you feel awful."
Just hold on to your cell phone sweetie and don't swing at any staffers. You'll get through it nicely.
