Andrew is best known as the founder of GenerationQ (formerly queerplanet), but recently Andrew created the Street Angels to fight homophobia on the streets and now the School Angels to help stop gay bullying in schools.

He put together this awesome video, and I had to share it with you!

GenerationQ Street Angels looking for missing gay man

An Australian group trying to stop LGBT violence in Sydney is seeking help to find a gay man who went missing from the Oxford Street area.

Sydney group hits the streets to stop LGBT violence

Gays in Sydney are stepping up to stop the violence against the LGBT community.

Andrew Stopps, the founder of the popular online mag GenerationQ.net, is organizing a way for the gay community to work together and help stop violence.

The newly formed groups is called the GenQ Street Angels, and they are still looking for volunteers.  Stopps says this won't be a vigilante, instead he hopes just the site and sound of the 'Angels' will help prevent any violence from occurring at all!

Hats off to Andrew and the GenQ Street Angels!

GenQ Foundation introduces choir

The GenQ Foundation has a pretty full roster from giving out scholarships to working with student groups, but now they are amping things up a little with "Caelestis."

"Caelestis" is a choir open to anyone of any gender, sexuality, age or vocal experience.  The GenQ Foundation hopes to see the group use their voices to help put an end to homophobia and intolerance and promote unity regardless of sexuality or gender.

The Sydney Caelestis will be directed by GenQ founder Andrew Stopps.  Stopps has already had extensive choral training and conducting experience both in Australia and internationally.  Andrew has also been the Assistant Music Director of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir and Head of Music at the Australian International Performing Arts High.

"This will not be your usual GLBT choir" said Andrew Stopps, "I am trying to make this something a little different and very special, for one, the choir is open to everybody who believes that we should all work together regardless of sexuality and gender. Secondly, we will all be a part of an international network of Caelestis choirs and so we can directly support one another.

The first "Caelestis" choir will be established in Sydney Australia, with other following in other Australian cities and around the world.  To sign up visit www.genqfoundation.com/.

Trading your stuff is as easy as 1, 2, 3 with Gay Freecycle

Have you ever wondered what to do with all of that crap that you just don't want anymore?  Have you ever heard the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure?"  The creators behind GenerationQ.net sure have, and now they are giving you a forum to get rid of your junk and find some new treasures.

Introducing www.gayfreecycle.com.  GenerationQ Editor, Andrew Stopps, says this is a simple way to get rid of your old stuff and look for items you need.

"It is, quite simply put, a free recycling forum," Stopps explained. "If you have something you want to get rid of, like a sofa or book or your old porn collection, rather than throwing it away, you place an ad in Queercycle," he added.

"It also works the other way. If you need something, like a washing machine or a chair or clothes then you post that you need it and if anyone has what you are looking for, they contact you and arrange to get it to you," he said.

Stopps says the idea is that no money changes hands at all.

"It's all about giving away things you don't want rather than throwing away and helping other people," he explained.

To start getting rid of your old stuff or to look for something you need, log on to www.gayfreecycle.com.
